According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the longest name for a place is also in the Welsh language: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. That translates to "Saint Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio of the red cave."

Welsh is also spoken outside of Wales. Immigrants have established the language in far-off places, such as an Argentinian province in Patagonia.
